STREET DEPARTMENT

Denny Davis is the Superintendent and Dan Sheely is the Assistant of the Street Department. They work under the supervision of the Chairman of the Committee of Streets and Alleys.

Their responsibilities include keeping the streets and alleys clear of snow, ice and debris, repairing and restoring streets, removing dead or dangerous trees from the public right of way, replacing sidewalks, keeping street signs in repair, providing pickup service for brush and leaves placed on the terrace, keeping storm sewers free of debris, and keeping all equipment in good working condition.

They keep our Village clean and attractive. They also assist the Park and Recreation Department and the Public Property Department when needed.

WATER AND WASTEWATER DEPARTMENT

Gene Ashton is the Superintendent of the Water Department and Jack Beck is the Superintendent of the Waste Water Treatment Department. They work under the supervision of the Chairman of the Water and Sanitary Sewer Committee.

Their responsibilities include the operation of the water system of the Village and the sanitary sewer system and wastewater treatment facility. They oversee all water and sewer connections, repairs and new pipe lines. They keep both systems in compliance with EPA regulations by conducting tests of water and wastewater on a regular schedule. Installing new water meters and turning water service on and off are also their duties.

A new well was completed in 2008 to assure a continued supply of quality water for the Village. Thirty radio-read water meters are being installed every month until all meters are changed. A new or renovated wastewater treatment facility is in the planning and funding stage.
