Sunday, Feb. 5 | DUMC Potato Bar Fundraiser For Relay For Life The Disciples United Methodist Church, located on the corner of Hitt & Maple, Mt. Morris, will host a potato bar from 11:00 am -12:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. The Driven Disciples Relay For Life team will provide a baked potato with assorted toppings, relishes, beverage, and a slice of pie for $6.00. Children ages 10 and under: $3.00. Carryout is available. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. |
Saturday, Feb. 11 | Second Saturday at the Mt. Morris Public Library (Monthly) The February "Second Saturday" will be on February 11 from 11:00 A.M. - 2:30 P.M. to participate in a Mad Hatter Tea Party for girls and boys ages 5 to 8. At registration, each child will receive a top hat to take home and decorate. Hats will be judged at the party, and a prize will be awarded for the "craziest" top hat. At the tea party, the children will be served juice, sandwiches and cake, and play Wonderland games. Registration is required, along with a $3.00 fee. There is a limit of 12 participants. Sunday, February 12 | Victorian Tea at the Mt. Morris Library The library’s third annual fundraising tea will be held on Sunday, February 12 at 2:00 pm. This year’s program will feature Hats and History, presented by Betty Obendorf. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite hat. Served this year will be quiche, scones with assorted toppings, a variety of sweets provided by the Mt. Morris Community Library Foundation, and all the tea you can drink. This program is open to adults and mature children 10 years and older who are accompanied by an adult.
Seating is limited. Tickets, $15.00 per person, must be purchased in advance, by Thursday, February 9. Participants are asked to provide their own place setting of sandwich plate, teacup and saucer, silverware, and a cloth napkin.
